Dr Eric Lim has almost 20 years of experience in mental health nursing and more than 10 years of experience in nursing education. He has worked across many areas of mental health including forensic mental health and is now a lecturer at Curtin University. He is passionate about helping individuals who have complex needs and are vulnerable in society.

Dr Eric Lim is a lifelong learner. Over the last 10 years, he continued to pursue knowledge and understanding of how to promote therapeutic and least restrictive care and treatment for people with mental illness. Eric completed his Doctor of Philosophy which focused on utilising recovery-focused care in the acute mental health setting. He is continuing his research to promote recovery-focused care to reduce aggression and is currently working on the use of virtual reality to better prepare staff to work collaboratively with consumers in acute mental health settings.
